This is the only documentation I have of Nice Booth. Nice Booth was a performative installation in which I was nice to everyone that entered my physical space and sat with me on a couch.  By nice, I mean, I listened to them while they talked and attempted to show empathy and interest with body language.   I also said supportive things and made supportive gestures. This photo is actually pre Nice Booth.  As you can see I am not interacting with anybody in this photo.

A collaborative outdoor performance with Sarah Butterill ,The Received, we created a receiving area, staging  boxes much like the store we also had worked in together.  As participants entered the receiving area, we asked them to reveal parts of themselves or their lives that they did not feel acknowledged about.  People said things like, “No one realizes how funny I am.”  and, “People don’t understand how much I want to help.”  We then provided written receipt of those parts.

100% Self-confidence.

It’s true.  I did say that to someone at work.  It’s a few years ago now.

The Pastel Project

This is a new project I am doing. Everyday for one month I will paint, draw, touch, think about or say the name of a pastel colour. I love these colours because they are so soft.
